317 Main Make-Up Policy
Student Request to Reschedule at 317
- When students need to miss a lesson, they forfeit their lesson time for that week. However, students can also ask for a reschedule. It's up to the teachers whether they offer reschedules based on their availability. I encourage students to ask for reschedules, and I do my best to fulfill them when possible.
- I accept reschedule requests up to 2 weeks in advance. The last day to submit a reschedule request is the day before a lesson.
- I can no longer accommodate day-of reschedule requests.
- I will give options leading up to the proposed missed lesson day as well as 5 teaching days after the proposed missed lesson date. Subject to availability.
- Lessons should be rescheduled by the time of the missed lesson. Once we're past the missed lesson time, I can give up to 48 hours more to get the reschedule taken care of. After that I will have to abandon the request.
- Lessons can only be rescheduled once. I can't reschedule a reschedule.
Teacher Cancellations at 317
- If I cancel a lesson, I will make it up at our normal time during the predetermined make up week (see calendar). As long as I am making it up at your normal time during the make up week, it is your responsibility to attend. Note these dates!
- If I am unable to make up the lesson, you will be issued a credit.
Weather Events
- Teaching artists are required to make up the first weather event within a session.
- If there is a second weather event within a session, the student will forfeit that lesson fee.

Missed Lesson Policies
Teacher Cancellations in Bath
- If I cancel a lesson, I will make it up at our normal time during the predetermined make up week (11/20, 3/12, 6/18).
- If I cancel a second lesson in a season, you will be issued a credit.
Student Absences in Bath
- Unfortunately there is no possibility of rescheduling in Bath, as I only teach one day per week.
- If you need to cancel a lesson, you will receive a pre-recorded digital lesson for the student to watch at home. This will include a collection of videos teaching a new song in their unit + personalized instructions on what to practice.
- You can also temporarily switch times with another student for a week, as long as they have the same lesson length. All students who opt in to the student directory will receive a copy of the schedule with contact information included. You can directly reach out to a student who you’d like to swap with. This community resource is meant to be used sparingly. Students should keep their normal time as much as possible.
Weather Events
- The first weather event in a semester will be made up by me.
- The second weather event in a semester will be forfeited by the student.
Guardians On-Site
- A guardian is required at every lesson. Children are not allowed to be dropped off. This is in case of emergencies.
- As a guardian you’re welcome to observe the lesson, or you can occupy yourself otherwise out on the deck or in the living room.
Tuition + Fees
- Tuition covers lessons, concerts, and my personalized investment in your child's development.
- Tuition is spread out evenly over the year. No matter how many lessons are in a month, the monthly fee is the same.
- You can pay monthly or semesterly. Semesterly payments cover 5 months and include a built-in discount.
- There is an annual registration fee of $35 per child for new students and $25 per child for returning students. This fee goes towards the cost of administration throughout the year and reserves your spot in the schedule. If you’re registering multiple children, the second child’s fee is $15 and the third child is free to register.
- Referral discount: For every new student you recommend that joins my studio, I’ll apply a $20 discount to your next invoice.
- Students are required to purchase the appropriate books ($20-30) when moving up in levels.
